CONTRACTORS GUIDE Section 7 - POLYESTER LAMINATION METHODS
METHODS:
7-1 POLYESTER LAMINATION ON PLYWOOD DECK.

1. Make a 3 course repair on all deck seams.

2. Install a drip guard flashing.

3. Using the 3 course repair, overlap the drip guard flashing to roof edge
(See Section 3).

4. Working 6-8 ft. sections, apply an even, generous coat of POLAR CAP BASE COAT (PC-104) undiluted, or POLAR CAP PRIMER/ROCK (PC-106), diluted
1 1/2 part primer to 1 part water.

5. Unroll the fabric and using a 9" roller, push the fabric into the wet product.

6. If required, apply additional wet product to saturate the fabric.

7. Allow 24 hour cure time before coating.

7-2 POLYESTER FABRIC LAMINATION ON CAP SHEET/HOT MOP

1. Make necessary repairs and reinforcements as described in Section 5-1 steps 1 through 4.

2. Working 6-8 ft. sections, apply an even, generous coat of POLAR CAP BASE COAT (PC-104) undiluted, or POLAR CAP PRIMER/ROCK (PC-106), diluted
1 1/2 part primer to 1 part water.

3. Unroll the fabric and using a 9" roller push the fabric into the wet product.

4. If required, apply additional wet product to saturate the fabric.

5. Allow 24 hour cure time before coating.

IMPORTANT - CURE TIME IS AFFECTED BY WEATHER CONDITIONS
(SEE SECTION 11-1)

7-3 PREVIOUSLY COATED ROOF

1. Determine condition of the roof surface and use fiberglass or polyester mesh fabric in a 3 course repair to reinforce weak areas, i.e., Parapet wall kicker, pending areas and stress points.

2. Proceed with steps #2 through #5 as listed above in Section 7-2.
